OSA seeks donations for online auction

Owenians... Can you help The OSA (Owen's School Association) fundraise by donating a lot for their 2021 online auction?

Following the success of last year’s inaugural Dame Alice Owen's Online Auction, the OSA is delighted to confirm that this year's auction will be live from

Wednesday 24th November (5pm)

with bidding ending on Friday 10th December (7pm).

OSA relies on donations from friends of the school, parents and alumni so if you can spare anything that has a perceived value, from products and services to weekends away they would love to hear from you!

There is a suggested minimum value of £5.00.

Last year, many parents were very generous with their donations and they included use of a holiday home, bottles of spirits, restaurant vouchers, unwanted gifts (unopened) and experiences that money just can’t buy.

So, if you are able to help, please email details of your donation to:

auction@theosa.org.uk

What they will need:

- 1 or 2 images of each item (up to 2MB per photo)

- Item description (this is what 'sells' to bidders)

- Name of donator/s (this will be displayed on the auction platform, unless you advise OSA otherwise)

- Estimated value of the item/s so that an appropriate 'starting bid' can be set, or you can suggest one yourself

In addition:

There is an opportunity for businesses to promote themselves to the DAOS parent body and Owen's Alumni too, at a low cost via the auction platform. For details, please email auction@theosa.org.uk

It is also worth noting that the OSA is able to 'Match Fund' this event, which effectively doubles the amount raised from every item donated and sold.

Most national and multinational companies offer 'Match Funding' as part of their charitable giving, so please contact your HR departments to find out if they participate in 'Match Funding'.

OSA would appreciate hearing from any 'Match Funders' that are potentially able to support this event. Please email Tabitha at contact@theosa.org.uk

We believe the success of last year's auction was largely down to the timing, as many of the donations made excellent Christmas gifts.

So this year, let's pull together again and make this fundraising effort one we can all be proud of.

OSA Chairs, Glenn Taylor and Patricia Doyle, thank you for your continued support.
