On October 26, 2024, we lost Renata - a remarkable woman with a wicked sense of humor, a generous heart, a gift for listening and an infectious laugh that brightened every room. Renata Stewart was a dedicated and highly respected teacher, colleague and friend. She taught foreign languages right up to 2015 when she left Dame Alice Owen's School. She was an amazing German teacher but her undying passion was for Italian. Thanks to her hard work and dedication she single-handedly established Italian as a subject at Owen's and watched it grow to be offered at GCSE and at A Level. Renata was an incredibly supportive colleague and teacher who always found time to listen and to offer help and advice to anyone that needed it. Despite the numerous challenges that life had thrown at her in recent years, she remained cheerful and optimistic. Her colleagues, past students and friends are grateful for the time they were able to spend with her. She will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to her husband Patrick and daughter Christine and all the family.
To honor her legacy, Renata's family invite all who knew her to join them in celebrating her life on 15 November:
16:00 - 17:00: Funeral service
18:00 - 21:00: Remembrance Gathering
