Current Job Title / Employer or Company name

YouTube Educator - I have created and produce content for a YouTube channel, Bicen Maths, which teaches A-Level Maths and Further Maths.

Dame Alice Owen’s Class of?

2000-2007

Brief description of your path after Owen’s.

Studied History at University of Oxford, completed Teach First's Leadership Development Programme, teaching maths in inner city Birmingham. I then taught in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets, for 9 years. I taught maths, trained teachers, and also set up my YouTube channel there. I also studied for a Graduate Diploma in Maths whilst teaching full time. Since then, I have left teaching to concentrate on my online offering.

How your path lead you to where you are now?

I have been in teaching since I left university - so it's all been leading up to me becoming a YouTuber!

Did your time at Owen’s inspire any particular skills or attributes?

The teaching was fantastic - in particular, my Further Maths teacher, Dr James, inspired me to teach.

Favourite Owen’s memory?

So many amazing teachers who inspired me to love learning - and lunch times spent up in the field on sunny days.
